Overview

Dr. Mohsin Ahmed is a distinguished clinical and interventional cardiologist in Bangladesh, serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Dhaka.

He graduated (MBBS) from Chittagong Medical College, Chittagong, Bangladesh, in 1994 and obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Cardiology from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), under Dhaka University, in 2004. After completion of a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Escorts Heart Institute & Research Center, New Delhi, India, he joined the Department of Cardiology, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Dhaka, as an Assistant Professor on July 29, 2004. Since then, he has performed more than 10,000 invasive procedures independently and efficiently, like coronary and peripheral angiograms and angioplasty, mitral and pulmonary valvuloplasty, device implantation (pacemaker and CRT), etc. He is a competent and safe invasive cardiologist who possesses the necessary skills to perform independently in all aspects of invasive and interventional procedures.

Dr. Mohsin Ahmed is the Scientific Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Cardiac Society and Joint Secretary of the Bangladesh Society of Cardiovascular Intervention. He obtained fellowships from the American College of Cardiology (FACC) in 2012, the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2013, and the Asia-Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (FAPSIC) in 2019.

He also excels as an academic leader and practitioner. His work in clinical and interventional cardiology has been invaluable. He has a good number of publications in different peer-reviewed national and international journals. He was a faculty member and speaker at numerous national and international cardiac conferences throughout the world, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, India, and others.

Dr. Ahmed is the founder and CEO of the “Healthy Heart Happy Life Organization (HeLO),” which is a non-government, non-profit, non-political, voluntary organization based on the slogan “Charity, Awareness, and Research for humanity.” The organization chiefly contributes to human development through creating awareness on different issues, carrying out research, and providing humanitarian services. In recognition of its philanthropic and awareness-raising efforts across the country, the Healthy Heart Happy Life Organization has already acquired full membership in the World Heart Federation.

Dr. Mohsin Ahmed is also the founder and secretary general of the Interactive Professional Development Initiatives (IPDI) Foundation, a sister organization to the Healthy Heart Happy Life Organization. The IPDI Foundation is an interactive platform for professionals from a wide range of fields, and its mission is to assist them in achieving and sustaining excellence in their work. Consequently, the group supports educational opportunities and high-caliber training programs aimed at expanding members’ skill sets. The IPDI Foundation recruits domestic and international scholars and practitioners to instruct and mentor the next generation of experts.
